Amy Cragg and Laura Thweatt to Race 2018 Chicago Marathon Against Jordan HasayBy Adam Kopet The Bank of America Chicago Marathon organizers announced Tuesday that Amy Cragg and Laura Thweatt will race in the 2018 edition of the race. Cragg, who won bronze in the marathon at last year's IAAF World Outdoor Championships in London, became the fifth fastest American woman ever at this year's Tokyo Marathon when she ran 2:21:42. Thweatt has also produced fast marathons in the past. She sits on the American top-10 list from her sixth place finish at the 2017 London Marathon, where she ran 2:25:38. Cragg and Thweatt join the already announced Jordan Hasay to make this the deepest American women's contingent in Chicago Marathon history. Hasay finished third in Chicago last year, becoming the second fastest American of all-time with her time of 2:20:57. The Chicago Marathon, part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, is scheduled for Oct. 7. More news |
