Rupp and Hasay to Return to Chicago in 2018By Adam Kopet Bank of America Chicago Marathon organizers announced Wednesday that Galen Rupp and Jordan Hasay will return to race Oct. 7 at the Chicago Marathon.
Rupp is the defending champion. He ran a then personal best 2:09:20, pulling away to win in the final miles. More recently, Rupp dropped out of the Boston Marathon, citing issues with asthma, but then returned to action several weeks later to win the Prague Marathon in 2:06:07. Hasay ran the second-fastest marathon by an American woman at the 2017 Chicago Marathon, finishing third in 2:20:57. She had been scheduled to race the Boston Marathon in April, but she withdrew the day before, citing a stress reaction in her foot. More news |
