Kenyans Kimetto and Jeptoo Win Chicago MarathonPublished by
Kimetto Sets Course Record in Winning Chicago MarathonPublished by the Chicago Tribune on October 13, 2013 Dennis Kimetto of Kenya took the lead definitively at the start of the 26th mile and went on to win Sunday's Bank of America Chicago Marathon in a course record 2 hours, 3 minutes, 45 seconds. That was seven seconds ahead of countryman Emmanuel Mutai. The old course record, 2;04:38, was set by Tsegaye Kedebe of Ethiopia last year. Kimetto's time was the fourth fastest ever, missing by 22 seconds the world record Wilson Kipsang of Kenya set in Berlin two week ago. Dathan Ritzenheim (fifth) was the top US finisher in 2:09:47.
